Bethesda, MD – First Washington Realty, Inc. (FWR), a privately owned real estate investment management company, announced today that Mary Rottler will join its leadership team as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Rottler will formally start in November of this year and will oversee the firm’s operating team and growing $5.6 billion portfolio of neighborhood retail properties. Ms. Rottler joins FWR from her current role as Chief Operating Officer of Seritage Growth Properties, a publicly traded REIT. Prior to joining Seritage in 2015, Ms. Rottler served as Vice President of Real Estate at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

Ms. Rottler graduated from Regis University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Ms. Rottler also holds a Juris Doctorate and an M.B.A from the University of Denver. She is a frequent industry speaker and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Ms. Rottler will relocate to the Washington, DC area to work from FWR’s headquarters in Bethesda, MD.
