BETHESDA, MD. – First Washington Realty (FWR), a national real estate investment and management company, announces the acquisition of Olive Chapel Village in Apex, North Carolina and Corner at Wescott in Summerville, South Carolina. This acquisition adds over 200,000 square feet of shopping center real estate to FWR’s growing portfolio.

Olive Chapel Village is in the flourishing Raleigh submarket of Apex, NC.  Anchored by Lowes Foods, the shopping center offers a dynamic tenant mix of national brands while also offering everyday necessity retail and local restaurants.  In close proximity to The Research Triangle, the larger trade area is anchored by three major universities and numerous technology firms.

Corner at Wescott is in the North Charleston and Summerville submarket, one of Charleston, South Carolina’s most affluent and growing neighborhoods.  The shopping center features a diversified, carefully crafted lineup of over twenty nationally recognized tenants including one of the top performing Harris Teeter’s in the state.  The center is situated within a short drive to dominant local employers such as The Boeing Company, Volvo Car U.S. Operations, and Summerville Medical Center.

“2021 has been a tremendous year for our firm’s investment discipline and results. We look forward to adding Olive Chapel Village and Corner at Wescott to our portfolio and growing our Southeast presence,” said Alex Nyhan, Chief Executive Officer of FWR.

“These acquisitions are an exciting opportunity for FWR and will expand our presence in this fast-growing Southeast region,” said Bobby Rassuli, Senior Vice President, and head of East Coast acquisitions.
